To all residents and visitors of Catahoula Parish:

Effective immediately, the Catahoula Parish Police Jury has issued a complete fire ban throughout the parish.

Under this ban:
• All open burning is prohibited.
• No fires of any kind (campfires, burn piles, debris burning, etc.) are allowed unless explicitly permitted by authority.
• This ban remains in force until further notice; it may be lifted or modified depending on changing weather and fire risk conditions.

Please comply strictly. Violations may result in fines, penalties, or enforcement action.

For updates and details (including when the ban is lifted), monitor official parish communications or check with local fire authorities.

Stay safe and help protect our community from wildfire risk.

SANDY LAKE WATER SYSTEM WILL BE INCREASING THEIR WATER RATES.

THIS WILL TAKE EFFECT ON SEPTEMBER 2025 BILLING. EVERY 5 YEARS A RATE STUDY BY THE LOUISIANA RURAL WATER ASSOCIATION IS DONE TO SEE IF THE WATER DEPARTMENT IS RUNNING ON ENOUGH FUNDS TO OPERATE. THEY FIGURE HOW MUCH IS NEEDED FOR THIS INCREASE AND IT IS APPROVED BY THE USDA AND SANDY LAKE WATER SYSTEM BOARD MEMBERS. NOW RATES AND NEW RATES IN SEPTEMBER ARE SHOWN BELOW.

$18.00 FOR THE FIRST 2,000 GALS.
$1.00 SAFE DRINKING WATER FEE
$5.00 PER 1,000 GALS THEREAFTER
COMMERCIAL:
$24.00 FOR THE FIRST 2,000 GALS
