This is to notify all Lee County tax payers that the spring tax tickets for 2026 have been mailed out. The due date for all taxes to be paid in full without penalty and interest is May 31, 2026.
IT IS ENCOURAGED THAT YOU MAIL YOUR PAYMENTS OR UTILIZE THE WHITE DROPBOX IN FRONT OF THE COURTHOUSE, OR PAY ON-LINE AT https://ipn.payments.com/otp/stde/lcv

Options for Payment of Taxes:

• Pay with a check: All taxes and fees may be included in one check or money order made payable to: LEE COUNTY TREASURER. If you would like a receipt, please include a self addressed stamped envelope.
• Pay by Credit Card: Visa, Master Card, and Discover
• Internet Pay: https://ipn.payments.com/otp/stde/lcv
• Pay by Phone: Paymentus: 1-866-789-3527 and follow instructions.
(There is a fee for payment by credit/debit cards and phone payments of 2.4% per $100).
• Pay at Banks: Payments may be made with the Tax Tickets at the following banks: Lee Bank & Trust, at all Lee County locations only. This will be done free of charge as an extended service to their customers.
• Payment Drop offs: For the convenience of their customers and to assist the county with more drop offs, the following banks will be a tax ticket drop off only: Powell Valley National Bank and Farmers and Miners Bank at all Lee County locations only. These banks will not be able to process the payments but they will ensure that the Treasurer’s office receives them. This will be done free of charge as an extended service to their customers. You may also use the white drop box located in front of the courthouse.
Pre-payments: To assist with not paying taxes all at one time, taxes may be pre paid to the Treasurer’s Office anytime throughout the year.
Contracts: Contracts are available so that monthly payments can be made after the due date to pay off delinquent taxes.
Dog Tags: Pursuant to the State Code of Virginia, 3.1-796.85 all dogs must be vaccinated for rabies by the time they are 4 months old. According to Lee County Ordinance pricing for dog tags are as follows: 1 year $5.00, 3 year $12.00, and 1 year kennel (20 dogs) $30.00 with a minimum of 8 vaccination certificates. Options for Payment:
 For your convenience mail to: Lee County Treasurer, P O Box 70, Jonesville, VA 24263. Also, include your vaccination certificate, a self addressed stamped envelope along with your check.
 You may also purchase your dog tag(s) at Lee County Animal Hospital or by bringing your Vaccination Certificate by the Treasurer’s office in Lee County Courthouse. Our current business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

I usually don't vote early but with what is at stake this time I went ahead and voted. Lee County tipped over 1,000 early voters as of 3:00 pm today. You can either wait and vote at your normal voting precincts on April 21, 2026. Or you can go to the Lee County Registrar's Office located at 133 School Board Pl Jonesville, VA 24263 and vote early Monday - Friday 8:30 to 4:30. They will also be open Saturday April 11 and Saturday April 18, 2026 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please don't sit this one out!

AppCAA will be offering free tax preparation at our Lee County office this year beginning Tuesday, February 3rd. Our site will be a "drop off only" which means the taxpayer will drop off their tax documents and return at a later date to pick up their tax paperwork. Taxes cannot be prepared while you wait.
