It is HOT out there. 🥵 Temperatures in much of our electric service area are expected to remain in the triple digits for the remainder of the week.

Here are some ways to conserve energy and manage energy costs:

1. Close blinds, curtains, and garage doors – these barriers can help keep heat from getting into your home.

2. Limit the use of large, heat-producing appliances during the middle and hottest part of the day.

3. Change air filters regularly and consider having your HVAC serviced and cleaned – grass clippings, dirt, and grime can cause your HVAC to work harder and use more energy.

Scammers are getting more clever all the time! Beware of some new tactics in their playbook and watch for these red flags:

🚩Scammers set up fake webpages that show up in google searches to trick people into calling a fraudulent number or going to a fake website to make payments.

👉 Don’t just click the first link in the search. Instead, look for the official Liberty website, libertyenergyandwater.com. Bookmark it for future use instead of using a search engine. For calls, use the number listed on your Liberty bill or on libertyenergyandwater.com.

🚩Scammers send emails, known as phishing, instructing customers to click on a link to pay their bill. Clicking on the link could result in downloading a virus onto the recipient’s computer or theft of personal information. They are also using QR codes that falsely claim to link to a utility payment page.

👉 Check the email address that sent the email. If it looks “fishy,” there’s a good chance it’s “phishing.” Report the email and go to Libertyenergyandwater.com to pay your bill.

🚩Scammers often use indirect language on phone calls or in communications such as “I am with your utility company” or “I work for your electric company.”

👉 Our team will identify themselves and that they work for Liberty. If the person on the other end of the call is hesitant to confirm they are calling from Liberty, hang up and call using our contact numbers found on Libertyenergyandwater.com or on your paper bill.

Arkansas Water Customers: Don't be alarmed if you see a fountain coming from your local water hydrant soon! 💦

Liberty's annual Arkansas water system flushing is scheduled for August 3-14, weather permitting. Work will begin in Pine Bluff and follow with White Hall, Woodson, and Hensley communities.

Flushing is the process of cleaning water mains by opening fire hydrants and allowing them to flow freely, sometimes up to 24 hours. Once the flushing begins, Liberty crews will work around the clock until the flushing is completed.

The Arkansas Department of Health requires annual flushing to ensure fire hydrants are working properly. In addition to ensuring system reliability, flushing also improves water quality. Customers who may experience any water quality issues during the scheduled flushing times are asked to run cold water from their faucet for 10 minutes. If the issues persist, or you experience low pressure, please contact the Liberty Customer Care team by dialing 1-855-382-6508.
