Mrs. Webster and Mr. Carter have worked extremely hard in leading our Fusion and Student Council program, to create attendance incentives that will continue to create some positive conversations about students attending school at a higher rate. This will make a major impact on student success in earning credits and staying on track to graduate. Thank you for creating positive experiences for our students!

Ms. Jeana Compton is doing great things in her Debate classes. She is working hard to rebuild a program with a rich history. Here, Beginning Debate students finished their unit on Extemporaneous Debate. For this style of debate students are given the topic and the side they will be debating 20 minutes before the debate starts. With a team, they use these 20 minutes to research the topic, write arguments, prepare for rebuttals, and to defend their case. Students rotated roles in the preparation process each debate. This activity encourages students to collaborate, use critical thinking, evaluate claims, and develop their public speaking skills.

Six of these students will be competing for the first time at the Carthage Novice Tournament this Saturday. We wish Coach Compton and all the students good luck. GO EAGLES!
