Hot and dry weather persists into Labor Day weekend, with temperatures remaining well above average for early September. Those with outdoor plans for the holiday should make plans to have cooling and hydration options readily available.

Daily highs in the middle to upper 90s, with a few locations around 100. Maximum heat index values around 100 to 105. Minimal overnight relief with lows in the middle to upper 70s. Stay cool and hydrated this week!

A Heat Advisory has been issued for Monday and an Extreme Heat Watch for Tuesday through Friday. Daily heat indices will climb above 100 degrees. Those sensitive to the heat will need to take the proper precautions to stay safe this week. No rainfall is expected this week.

Today will be dry with plenty of sunshine and high temperatures ranging from the middle 80s to the middle 90s, which is normal for this time of year. The warmer temperatures will be toward the Missouri state borders. Lower humidity will make it feel like a pleasant summer day. Tonight will also be clear and calm with temperatures in the lower 60s.

After a 30-50% chance of isolated to scattered storms today, warm and dry weather will prevail through the end of the week. Temperatures start to become hot again at the end of the weekend.
