Funding Available for #Career and #Workforce #Training
Harford has Career and Workforce Training opportunities available funded through the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (#GEER) program. The funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis and can cover tuition and fees, stipends, materials and supplies, and exam fees. Programs offered in September and October are listed below; #Cybersecurity programs will begin in November (details to come in future Harford Highlights). For Human Resources Professionals and Employers
Classes for the 36-hour #SHRM #Certification course will be held on Tuesdays, September 14–November 30, 6:30-9:45 p.m. Grant funds are available to cover tuition and fees, stipends, exams, and materials and supplies.
Interested in HVAC/R?
Prepare for entry-level positions in the #HVAC industry in under 12 months! Hands-on classes take place in simulated work environments so students get the skills and experience needed to attract employers and find in-demand job opportunities. The HVAC/R program provides experience working on small-, medium-, and large-scale heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Classes begin September 18.
Harford Community College, in partnership with Earlbeck Welding, offers hands-on skills training to prepare students for in-demand, entry-level ARC welding employment opportunities. Students may enroll on a rolling basis beginning October 1, 2021 and upon successful completion, can expect to earn their American Welding Society (AWS) certification.
Certified Veterinary Assistant
Students will work hands-on with a variety of animals and learn skills such as animal husbandry, emergency care, nutrition, surgery, diagnostics, and more in this 182-hour program. The #certifiedveterinaryassistant provides support to veterinarians and vet technicians in the delivery of patient care, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, administering medication to animals, and providing compassionate care to animals and their owners.
