Metropolitan Mosquito Control will be using drones in our City this summer for treating mosquito breeding areas within our City limits. Just FYI for those who might see them flying around from time to time.

***The last day of school and the last breakfast w/the Chief event for the school year***

This morning 7th grade students Easton and Gus were picked up before school by Chief Empey in his police squad. Both were given official JPD patches, a challenge coin and some other give aways.

The three then picked up drive-thru food from McDonald's and went to the police department to eat, hang out and chat, and to tour the building.

Chief Empey then drove both boys to school and met with Easton's classmates in his classroom. Thanks for hanging out guys and have a great summer!

The breakfast with Chief Empey was a past silent auction item for a local fundraiser.

**Kindergarten Safety Day 2026**

Today was cool out, but regardless we had a wonderful kindergarten safety day at the Jordan Police Department. All JES kindergarteners came to visit and tour our facility and work their way through various stations learning about all things safety related. Thank you to the Jordan Fire Department, Jordan Public Works Department, Scott County Sheriff's Office, Ridgeview Ambulance, Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative, and Scott County Dispatch for participating in hosting a safety learning station for the event.

***Breakfast with the Chief Empey***

This morning 7th grade student Shaun was picked up at his home before school by Chief Empey in his police squad. The two then picked up drive-thru food from McDonald's and went to the police department to eat, hang out and chat, and to tour the building. After that Chief Empey drove Shaun to school and met with all of his classmates in his classroom conducting a Q & A session about police work and his career. Fun times! Thanks for hanging out Shaun!

The breakfast with Chief Empey was a recent silent auction item at the St. John's Cadillac Dinner fundraiser.

- Breakfast with Chief Empey -

This morning 3rd graders and friends Bennett and Porter were picked up before school at Bennett's house in a police squad by Chief Empey. From their they all went to McDonald's to grab a take out breakfast and then to the Jordan Police Department to eat, visit, and tour our police facility. Chief Empey then drove both Bennett and Porter to school and had a meet and greet/Q & A session with all of Bennett's classmates. The breakfast with Chief Empey was a silent auction item at a past Jordan Fire Department fundraising event.
