We have been closely monitoring the hazardous road conditions around our district and the continued snow and ice conditions forecasted by the National Weather Service. Due to these conditions, a decision has been made to close school on Monday, March 16, 2026. We wanted to communicate this as early as possible to ensure families have time to plan. This will be a flexible learning day for students, more details are listed below:

Jordan High School & Jordan Middle School
Students will be able to view lessons and/or assignments on Google Classroom beginning at 10:00am. Teachers will be available via email to answer student questions from 10:00am - 3:00pm. Students attending classes at Southwest Metro will also have an e-learning day. The JMS Band Concert will be rescheduled for a later date.

Jordan Elementary School
Students in grades K-4 should complete the learning board activities provided by their teacher. These boards are also available on the Jordan Elementary School website under each grade level should you need to access them again.

Preschool, ECFE and Kids’ Company will also be closed.

Jordan Public Schools district affiliated middle school and high school after school activities will also be canceled.

All Community Ed and Rec youth after-school and evening activities are canceled. The CERC will remain open for regular hours. Any changes will be communicated appropriately.

District Advisory is cancelled and topics will be shifted to a future meeting date. The Community Education and Recreation advisory committee will be rescheduled. The School Board Meeting will remain as scheduled.

[Edited to include information regarding the Grade 8 Field Trip!]

We have been closely monitoring the current icy road conditions in areas around our district. In consultation with our transportation partners at Benjamin Bus and area districts, a decision has been made to delay the start of school by TWO HOURS tomorrow, Thursday, February 19, 2026. A two hour late start will give more time for the road conditions to improve. We will notify parents, guardians and staff of any changes by 8:00am.

With a late start, Jordan Preschool morning ONLY classes are canceled. Our all day preschool will have a two hour delay. Morning ECFE classes are also canceled. Kids’ Company opening is also delayed by two hours and will open at 8:00am. The CERC will be open for regular hours.

Jordan High School students report to first hour. Jordan Middle School students report to advisory. Jordan Elementary School students report to areas of supervision as they normally would each morning. Adults will direct students to supervisory areas. Breakfast is still available for students on late start days when they arrive at school.

The Grade 8 Ski Trip has been cancelled for 2/19/26. More information will be shared by the Grade 8 Team.

We don’t anticipate disruptions to evening activities at this time, however more information will be provided from Coaches regarding any changes that may need to occur for scheduled evening activities.
