First responding units found two vehicles involved blocking the south approach on Obed Road. With the assistance from NCSO Deputies Obed Road was closed in both directions. Three total occupants were involved and were self extricated on arrival. All occupants were evaluated by JCFD Medical personnel along with Holbrook EMS and were found to have only minor injuries. Obed Road remained closed until both vehicles were removed. The traffic load on Obed Road and connecting streets has drastically increased with the construction projects happening in area. Mutual Aid was in full force today! At approximately 11:00am JCFD was dispatched to Interstate 40 mile marker 279 for reports of a single vehicle accident. First arriving units found a single vehicle on its side with the single occupant entrapped. With the assistance of Holbrook EMS, NCSO Deputies and AZDPS Troopers a rapid extraction was performed and the subject was flown by Guardian Air to an area Trauma Center with unknown injuries. Shortly after the Motor Vehicle Accident JCFD was dispatched to assist NCSO Deputies and Navajo County Medico-Legal Investigators. Given the nature of the assist JCFD requested extra man power from Holbrook Fire. All agencies worked together to complete the tasks required. Our Mutual Aid Agreements with our neighboring agencies allows extra man power and equipment to be requested to help with any incident that may arise across many of the local jurisdictions in our area.

For Immediate Release:
At approximately 9:07 am on March 28, 2026 JCFD was dispatched to the 4400 block of 3rd South Ave for reports of a structure on fire. JCFD responded with two Structural Engines, one Water Tender, and two Command Units. First arriving units found a barn fully engulfed in flames with one other structure threatened. JCFD deployed two attack lines, one for primary engagement and one for exposure control. Crews were able to contain and extinguish fire with no other damage to the nearby structures. The cause of this fire was due to a gust of wind blowing embers from a permitted Open Burn into the barn causing some of the contents to ignite. JCFD would like to remind our residents that we are entering the spring months were weather can quickly and drastically change from favorable burning conditions to dangerous conditions. Please be aware of your surroundings and weather conditions during open burning. No injuries were reported during this incident. JCFD would like to thank our partnering agencies Holbrook EMS and Navajo County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance during this incident. For Immediate Release:
At approximately 12:10 pm on March 27th JCFD was dispatched to the 4500 block of 3rd South Ave for reports of a structure on fire. JCFD responded with one Structural Engine, one Water Tender, and one Command Unit. First arriving units found a small travel trailer fully engulfed in flames at the rear of the property with no other property being threatened. The owners stated no one was in the trailer at the time of JCFD’s arrival. Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to near by brush and contained to the trailer. Crews extinguished the fire unfortunately the travel trailer was not salvageable. On investigation the cause of this fire was deemed to be an electrical malfunction in the bedroom area of the travel trailer that quickly spread to the rest of the trailer. No injuries were reported during this incident. For any questions regarding this incident please contact JCFD’s Public Information Office at [email protected]
