🇺🇸 Honoring Those Who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice 🇺🇸

Over the weekend, several members of the Josephine Fire Department had the honor of participating in Dallas’ annual 9/11 Stair Climb, climbing in remembrance of the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

Each step was a reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and brotherhood that defines the fire service. We climb not only to remember those who never made it home, but also to ensure their stories and sacrifices are never forgotten.

We are incredibly proud of the dedicated members of our firehouse who took the time to represent Josephine Fire Department and honor the fallen.

Josephine Police Department and Josephine Fire Department are going head-to-head for a great cause—and YOU get to help decide the winner!

Support your favorite department by making a monetary donation or donating new, unwrapped gifts. All donations benefit Shop with Josephine’s First Responders, helping make Christmas extra special for local children in our community.

🚨 TRAINING NOTICE — NO CAUSE FOR ALARM 🚨

Josephine Fire Department will be conducting a training exercise within the City of Josephine that will involve a helicopter landing.

There is no cause for alarm if you see emergency personnel and a helicopter in the area. This is a planned training exercise designed to help our firefighters and EMS personnel prepare for and better respond to incidents involving air medical operations.

🔥 JOSEPHINE CITIZENS FIRE ACADEMY – CLASS 01 🚒

Ever wonder what really happens behind the doors of the Josephine Fire Department?

We’re excited to announce our first Citizens Fire Academy! This program gives members of our community a behind-the-scenes look at the day-to-day operations of the fire department, our equipment, training, emergency response, and much more.

📅 September 30 – November 18, 2026
🎓 Graduation: November 21
🕡 Wednesday evenings: 6:30–9:00 PM
🚒 Two Saturday sessions: October 17 & November 7, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
📍 Josephine Public Safety Building

This is a community education program and is not designed to train participants to become firefighters. It’s a chance to learn more about your fire department, meet our firefighters, see the equipment up close, and better understand how we serve our community.

Class size is limited to just 16 participants, with priority given to those who live or work in the Josephine response district.

🔥 FIRE SAFETY REMINDER: CLOSE BEFORE YOU DOZE
Firefighting equipment, technology, and techniques continue to improve, but we still need your help protecting the people you love.
Just like practicing E.D.I.T.H. (Exit Drills in the Home) and regularly testing your smoke alarms, closing bedroom doors at night is an important fire-safety habit.
A closed bedroom door can help slow the spread of heat, smoke, and toxic gases, giving those inside more time to escape or be rescued.
Close the door. Check your smoke alarms. Practice your escape plan.

North Texas is expected to experience elevated fire danger over the next several days, and potentially longer. Extremely dry conditions, combined with strong winds and low humidity, can cause grass and wildfires to start easily and spread very quickly.

Please use extra caution with any outdoor work or activity that could create a spark. One small spark can quickly become a fast-moving fire.

Stay alert, be cautious, and help us protect our community.
