The Jourdanton VFD just had to put one of our primary brush trucks in the shop for repairs. The parts and labor will add up to over $4000.00. This is going to take a BIG chunk out of operating budget. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.

On Friday, June 30th, the Atascosa County Sheriff's Office will be hosting a blood drive. The South Texas Blood and Tissue bus will be parked in the Sheriff's Office parking lot from 9:00 a.m. until noon.

We are hosting in honor of Richard Cordova, an employee of the Atascosa County Sheriff's Office. Richard was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and in his fight for health has received two units of blood.

Sounds like another great cookoff coming up !

The 2017 VFW Post 4853 Heroes Fest BBQ Cookoff "On The Ranch" has been scheduled. Save the Date September 9 & 10th. Entry Fee of $150 for the three meats. Event Flyer and details will be forthcoming.

Today will be the hottest day so far this year across South Central Texas. Heat index values will peak between 100-107 for most of the region with values of 108-112 possible over our southwestern-most counties who are under a Heat Advisory from 1-7 PM this afternoon. Please stay hydrated and take breaks from the heat if you must be outside today!
