Attention!! 📣

Our cardboard recycling bins are full at both locations: the HHW / Recycling Center and the Transfer Station. Both bins will be emptied tomorrow, so please wait to bring your cardboard until tomorrow afternoon.

Don't forget, we're back on our Winter Hour schedule so the HHW / Recycling Center will be open all day Friday (until 4pm) for all your recycling needs!

❄️ SNOW, SNOW, SNOW! ❄️

Last Thursday, we had eight employees attend a Snow & Ice Training Course, hosted by Kansas LTAP. Employees came back with some new knowledge and brought some great discussions!

Then, last Friday, we held our in-house SNICE Training Day! Sessions included reviewing the Geary County Snow and Ice Control Policy (stay tuned for a separate post on this), safety tips for operating during winter weather, as well as some hands on-training with installing plows and spreaders on our equipment. Each piece of equipment was checked to ensure all essential safety items are present and ready to go! 💪

We served a Taco Bar to our employees to celebrate completing chip sealing a couple of months ago! 🎉

We feel attending and conducting these types of training is vital to our operations. The more prepared we can be for winter weather, the better! Now, let's just hope it's a 'mild' winter. What are you predicting?! 🤔

The 2nd Saturday of the month is this Saturday, which means we (HHW/Recycling Center & Landfill) will be open!

Monday, October 12, we will be closed for observation of Columbus Day. The Transfer Station will remain open.
