***Immediate Attention Required***
A Boil Water Advisory for Dwight Water District in Geary County has been issued, due to a waterline incident on K57 Highway near the the water tower.
KDHE has issued a boil water advisory north of Geary County/Morris County line and west of Humboldt Creek Road in effect until rescinded by KDHE.

Students head back to school on Wednesday, August 12, and that means school buses on the road, busier crosswalks, and children walking to and from school throughout Junction City.

A few reminders before the first bell rings:

- School zone speed limits are 20 mph, and officers will be enforcing them. Slow down and stay alert.

- When a school bus extends its stop sign, traffic must stop. Do not pass a stopped bus no matter your direction of travel.

- Pedestrians have the right of way in crosswalks. Watch for children crossing and be ready to stop.

Give yourself a few extra minutes in the morning, put the phone down, and keep an eye out for our youngest residents.

A huge THANK YOU to all of our incredible community partners who came out and helped make our Safe Kids Day such a success! Your time, dedication, and commitment to educating families on a variety of important safety topics truly made a difference.

Because of your support, we welcomed over 150 community members who had the opportunity to learn valuable safety information, ask questions, and connect with local resources.

We are so grateful for each of you and for your continued partnership in helping keep the children and families of our community safe. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Thank you for helping make this event a success, we’re already looking forward to seeing everyone again next year!

🛟 Life Jacket Loaner Station Now Available! 🛟

We are excited to partner with the Junction City Family YMCA to provide a Life Jacket Loaner Station for our community!

This resource was made possible through our Safe Kids Geary County program, helping families have access to properly fitted life jackets to stay safe while enjoying time around the water.

Whether you’re heading to the lake, pool, or another water adventure, having the right life jacket is an important step in preventing water-related injuries and keeping our kids safe.

A special thank you to the Junction City YMCA for partnering with us and helping make water safety resources available to families in our community. 💙
