The Kansas Shrine Bowl announced on Tuesday that Junction City High School USD 475 head ๐Ÿˆ coach Randall Zimmerman has been named the West Head Coach for the 54th Annual Kansas Shrine Bowl on Saturday, June 26 at Welch Stadium on the campus of Emporia State University.

โ€œI am very much looking forward to working with, all involved, to ensure the 2027 Shrine Bowl is a very positive and successful experience for all,โ€ said Zimmerman. โ€œIt is a great humbling honor to be chosen to lead the West squad in โ€™27 from the great coaches involved in โ€™26. FOR THE KIDS!โ€

By being named a head coach, Coach Zimmerman will be making a Kansas Shrine Bowl record 10th appearance on the sidelines as he has been an assistant coach six times previously in 1988, 1995, 2009, 2015, 2021 and 2026, while also being named the West Head Coach on three previous occasions in 1996, 2010 and 2016.

Zimmerman currently ranks No. 6 overall amongst active head coaches in the entire state in coaching wins with 238 career victories. Zimmerman, who enters his 33rd season as head coach of the Blue Jays, led the JCHS to the Centennial League title in 2025 and a 7-3 overall record.

๐Ÿ’™ ๐—”๐—น๐˜‚๐—บ๐—ป๐—ถ ๐—ฆ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜๐—น๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต๐˜: As Geary County Schools USD 475 prepared for the start of another school year in August, a lot of work was happening behind the scenes to make sure everything was ready for students and staff. Among those helping make it all possible were two 2023 Junction City High School USD 475 graduates, Logan Nabus and Kayden Blake.

From moving equipment and materials to coordinating large-scale relocations, the duo and their crew took on several important projects that helped ensure the new school year would begin smoothly in USD 475.

โ€œI would like to thank the crew of Haulโ€™n Hustle for everything they accomplished for the district this summer. It was a pleasure working with them all summer and I look forward to doing more in the future,โ€ said Troy Geike, USD 475 Facility Specialist and Warehouse Supervisor.

See, it all started in 2022 when Nabus and Blake were still in high school and launched Junction Movers as a way to make some extra money when they werenโ€™t competing as Blue Jays on the football field, wrestling mat or baseball diamond.

After graduation, the duo continued to excel in college with Nabus competing for the Panther baseball program at Neosho County Community College and Blake continuing his wrestling career at Barton Community College. After two years, they decided it was time to take their entrepreneurial ambitions to the next level. In 2025, they along with fellow classmate John Noveroske, created Haul'n Hustle, turning the small business venture they had started years earlier into a growing business.

Fast forward to this summer and one of their major projects involved moving items at Fort Riley Middle School USD 475 to make way for the start of the schoolโ€™s HVAC construction. The crew also completed multiple moves associated with the district's beautiful new state-of-the-art Early Childhood Center USD 475, helping get classrooms and spaces ready for our Little Jays.

Their work didn't stop there though as Haulโ€™n Hustle also assisted with the relocation of the H.D. Karns Alternative School to its new location in Grandview Plaza, helping staff transition into their new space and prepare for the 2026-27 school year.

โ€œThey are all fine, respectable, hardworking young men with bright futures ahead of them. It was incredible to watch them work together as a team this summer, balancing care, efficiency and professionalism in everything they did. It is also inspiring to see JCHS graduates take the initiative to start their own business and watch it thrive. We are so proud to see them succeeding and making a positive impact not only in our district, but also in our community,โ€ said Geike.

While many of these moves happened behind the scenes, Blake and Nabus, along with their entire Haulโ€™n Hustle team, made a tremendous impact across the district. Their hard work, flexibility and willingness to tackle each project helped USD 475 get its facilities ready for students and staff.
