Central Aid Agency CERT Central Aid Agency CERT is a Community Emergency Response Team program operated jointly by the Central Aid Agency and Training Solutions International.

Central Aid Agency CERT is a Community Emergency Response Team program operated by the Central Aid Agency in partnership with Training Solutions International. The goal of the program is to better prepare the community and the general public to respond to all hazard incidents. The program serves the Junction City and greater Lane County areas and also works with other CERT programs operating in the area.

Ice Storm Warning issued February 12 at 3:10PM PST until February 14 at 4:00AM PST by NWS Portland OR

Central Oregon Coast Range Lowlands; Central Oregon Coast Range; West Central Willamette Valley; East Central Willamette Valley; Benton County Lowlands; Linn County Lowlands; Lane County Lowlands

* WHAT...Significant icing expected. Total snow accumulations up to
one inch and ice accumulations up to three tenths of an inch.

* WHERE...Central and Southern Willamette Valley, Central Oregon
Coast Range Lowlands, and Central Oregon Coast Range.

* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 4 AM PST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous.

Travel is strongly discouraged, unless it is an emergency. If you
leave the safety of being indoors, you are putting your life at risk.

Walking surfaces will be icy and slick. Use extra caution if you
have to walk outdoors.

..ICE AND SNOW WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY...
Winter precipitation is expected to begin Wednesday night, starting
in the south and pushing northward. Precipitation will initially
begin as mixed freezing rain and snow Wednesday night, transitioning
over primarily to freezing rain on Thursday. Significant ice
accumulations will be possible, impacting the Thursday morning
commute.

* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow
accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations of one quarter
of an inch possible.

* WHERE...Central and Southern Willamette Valley.

* WHEN...From 10 PM Wednesday through Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Significant ice accumulation on
power lines and tree limbs may cause power outages.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Precipitation begins as mixed snow and
freezing rain early Thursday morning. Precipitation will
transition over to primarily freezing rain by Thursday midday.
Freezing rain that falls on snow will accumulate quickly. The
Thursday morning commute will be affected. Due to areas of
freezing rain, power outages are possible.

Winterize your vehicle and have a winter emergency driving kit
readily available. Make sure your emergency kit has the following
items: flashlights, batteries, blankets, a shovel, water,
non-perishable food items, tire chains, etc.

Now is a good time to put snow tires on your vehicle.

Check on friends and family to see if they need help preparing.

Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates on this
situation.

Do not touch downed lines and report any power outages to your
electric company. Travel is highly discouraged due to slick roadways
and the possibility of downed trees and power lines.
