An update on SR-153 update for the Junction/east side.

Our crews identified a safety issue last week on the east side of SR-153 between Junction and Beaver. The fire melted several of the culverts underneath the road, leaving behind voids (seen in the photo below).

That means vehicles traveling over them could cause the road to collapse, which is why the road remains closed.

Our crews are working over the next few days to replace the damaged culverts and get the road back open as soon as it’s safe to do so.

We hope to be able to allow traffic up on the Junction side to milepost 18 later this week.

The paved section/west side of SR-153 remains closed with no estimated time of reopening.

Junction Town residents, I am pleased to announce that the boil water order has been lifted. Please refer to the attached documents for instructions on how to safely flush your home's plumbing system. Following the flushing process, please exercise caution with your water usage, as our water supply was depleted during the tank cleaning process. Currently, our water supply is limited, and we are relying on a single water source.

Fishlake National Forest Closure Order Effective Tuesday July 21, 2026.
