The final House vote on HB381 this afternoon. The bill now heads to the Senate for consideration. Any changes to the bill on the Senate floor will bring it back to the House for concurrence before it can head to the Governor.

The Coast Guard announced today that they will be porting two brand new icebreakers, or "Arctic Security Cutters", in Kodiak starting in 2028, with another to be ported in Seward in the near future. This is excellent news for Arctic security and maritime safety in our state! It also presents an incredible economic opportunity for our communities. I look forward to welcoming the crews of these new ships, and their families, to District 5!

This morning at 11 a.m. the House Finance Committee will begin the process of considering amendments to HB381: "An Act relating to the taxation of certain natural gas pipeline property; relating to municipal taxation limitations; establishing an alternative volumetric tax on natural gas throughput; relating to the allocation of revenue from the alternative volumetric tax; and providing for an effective date."

Today in the U-Med was the Alaska Run for Women whose mission is to raise money for & awareness of breast cancer & women’s health, & to showcase the talents of AK’s women athletes.
