For those who couldn't attend or watch today's Memorial Day ceremony, the address given by one very dedicated local U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran is worth a quiet moment of your time today.
Drawing on both his time in Iraq and his current work as a mental health therapist, his remarks offered a rare, grounded perspective on what it means to truly belong to a community. He reminded us that the deep bonds formed in service are rooted in an ancient human instinct: that survival and strength come from cooperation, connection, and a shared purpose bigger than any individual.
I'm grateful to him for sharing this with us, and wish everyone a meaningful Memorial Day.
