Showers and isolated thunderstorms will increase Friday, with storms beginning to develop around midday and continuing into the evening. A few stronger storms are possible, along with brief downpours and lightning.

Saturday brings a higher chance for strong to severe storms across northeast Wyoming and western South Dakota. Hazards include damaging winds, large hail over one inch, heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, and a possible tornado. The most favorable window for stronger storms is from noon to midnight MDT (1 PM to 1 AM CDT). The latest outlook places western South Dakota in a Slight Risk, with surrounding areas in a Marginal Risk.

Forecast details can still change, so stay informed and check back for updates. Visit weather.gov/unr for the latest forecast.

Construction season means work zones with shifting lanes, reduced speeds, and changing traffic patterns designed to protect workers and drivers.

Two‑way traffic configurations require space and time to complete. When you encounter work zones, please remember:

- Reduced speeds protect both workers and drivers/passengers.
- Narrowed lanes require extra attention.
- Travel delays are usually just a few minutes.

Slow Down. Stay Alert. Keep Workers Safe. Give Crews an “Extra Minute”!

Your patience helps crews deliver safer and smoother roads for everyone.
