The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Southwestern Lee County in southeastern Iowa...
Clark County in northeastern Missouri...

* Until 1115 PM CDT.

* At 1001 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Bonaparte,
or near Keosauqua, moving southeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Keokuk, Kahoka, Warsaw, Wayland, Wyaconda, Alexandria, Luray,
Croton, St. Francisville, Wi******er, Revere, Charleston, Gregory
Landing, Clark County Fairgrounds, Chambersburg, Ashton, Heath
Memorial Conservation Area, Peaksville, Fairmont, and Medill.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service
office in the Quad Cities.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to

Your local fire department needs new volunteers. No experience or prior training is required, as complete training is provided during regular meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Contact Assistant Chief Harrison at 660-216-1436 for more details.

• No Experience Needed: Free training teaches you how to do the job safely and efficiently.


• Flexible Commitment: You choose what tasks you feel comfortable doing.


• Meeting Schedule: First and third Wednesdays of every month from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.


• Perks: Drive big red trucks with loud sirens and flashing lights.

• Must live within a reasonable distance of the fire station.

‼️We’re all in this together, Missouri!
⚠️Extreme Heat Warning today and Monday. The heat index is expected to climb to 110 and higher for almost all of Missouri this afternoon and again on Monday afternoon.
✅Avoid outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
✅Drink plenty of water, sports drinks, or natural fruit juices to stay hydrated.
✅Avoid alcohol and beverages that contain caffeine as these tend to be dehydrating.
✅If outdoor activity is unavoidable, take plenty of breaks in the shade, or in an air conditioned environment away from the heat.
