Find nourishment for your body, mind, and spirit at your public libraries this summer!
An ʻUmeke Kāʻeo is a calabash full to the brim. It often represents having plenty to eat, and it’s a poetic way to describe someone full of wisdom. That’s why we’re using it as a symbol for this summer’s reading challenge: E Heluhelu Kākou: ʻUmeke Kāʻeo.
The summer reading challenge will run from June 1 through July 31.
Readers of all ages are invited to participate. School-aged children will benefit by stopping the summer learning slide, and adults can boost literacy by fostering a culture of reading in the community. All those who log their reading can earn rewards!
Pre-register today, and get ready to Read, Log, and Earn your chance to win the grand prize!
