The Community Gym floor is being resealed and needs 10 days to dry. We can all look forward to having a great time on the newly sealed floor when the gym reopens June 25th!

Public Notice - Do not put large metal objects outside the gate at the Portage scrap metal yard. City crews need to be able to access the yard at any time. Thank you for your assistance as they work to clean up Kake!

Public Notice - In Alaska, individuals may obtain an instruction permit at age 14. Drivers with a permit must be accompanied by a licensed driver who is at least 21 years old and has held the appropriate license for that vehicle class for at least one year.

After holding a permit for at least six months without any traffic convictions, drivers may qualify for a provisional driver's license. Applicants must also certify at least 40 hours of supervised driving with a parent or legal guardian.

VPSOs will be conducting traffic stops involving minors who are driving without a properly licensed supervising driver in the vehicle.
