Happy back-to-school morning to all our KPS families!

For many parents, today brings a welcome return to routine. But if you sent a kiddo off to school for the very first time, we hope you packed extra tissues.

Here are a few important dates to keep on your calendar during the first two weeks of the 2026–27 KPS school year.

Some important upcoming dates:
✏️ August 31: K-12 & KECSE students, half day
✏️ September 1: K-12 full day
✏️ September 4: K-12 no school, schools open for enrollment
✏️ September 7: Labor Day, no school and all buildings closed
✏️ September 8: PreK ECSE first day
✏️ September 14: PEEP first day

The Township Board held its first 2027 budget meeting on August 26. Board members reviewed the Township’s current financial position and discussed how millage rates may affect key services, including parks and public safety.

Our next Community Conversations session is just around the corner!

Join us on Thursday, September 3, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Township Hall for a casual discussion with up to three Township Board members. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, share what's on your mind, hear updates, and connect with local leaders and neighbors.

Community Conversations are held on the first Thursday of each month, and everyone is welcome.
