today we are launching our K College CARES Act Coalition!
We are demanding a response from the school to the COVID-19 Pandemic that includes:
1. Appointing a group of 7 students, representative of the entire student body, that has equal voting power to the administration in deciding how the CARES Act money should be distributed.
2. Establishing an Emergency Aid Fund for Faculty and Students, that prioritizes undocumented students, international students, and laid-off campus workers.
3. Holding a public town hall with administration no later than 6th Week Wednesday, including student moderators, that is recorded for future reference by students who are unable to make the town hall.
4. Being transparent about the employment status of all campus workers and contractors, including full pay for the entire Spring term, with backpay to cover the whole term.
5. Implementing a tuition freeze for the 2020-2021 academic school year, lower tuition if learning remains online for the Fall term, and be transparent about the tuition process.
