What a GREAT August!
August was an incredible month here at Kalamazoo County Animal Services! So many deserving cats and dogs found their forever homes, new families, and the second chances they’ve been waiting for.
We’re so grateful to everyone who adopted, volunteered, donated, shared our posts, or simply helped spread the word. Every single one of you makes a difference!

Say hello to Alaska, a 9-year-old sweetheart who is as unique as she is lovable! With her big, beautiful ears and adorable stumpy tail, Alaska has plenty of beauty packed into one very special girl. Alaska would love nothing more than a calm, peaceful household where she can soak up the sunshine, take plenty of cozy naps, and—most importantly—get all the love and affection she deserves.
She’s ready to leave the shelter life behind and become someone’s cherished companion.

Dog friends: Goodboy loves to PLAY! His play style is enthusiastic, jumpy, and high-energy, so he’ll need canine companions who are confident and comfortable with his exuberance.
Cats: He seems to do well with cats, but because he’s such an energetic guy, a home with safe escape routes and cat-only spaces would be a big benefit for any feline roommates.
Goodboy is young, fun, food-motivated, and ready to learn. He’s looking for someone who will appreciate his goofy spirit and help him channel all that energy into being the very best boy he can be!

Man Crush Monday!
Meet Reece! What an absolute love of a dog! This handsome and extremely sweet boy is about 1 year old! He LOVES his humans! He just wants to be a lap dog and be by your side all the time. He also has the most beautiful golden eyes!
Reece will benefit from basic training as well as leash training but has a good head start and knows “sit.”
Reece appears to be interested in and like other dogs but meet and greets are required to make sure their personalities vibe 😎 unknown about cats, but can be tested with an approved application.
