Road Commission of Kalamazoo County Your Local Road Professionals The Road Commission of Kalamazoo County maintains 1,270 miles of road throughout the 576 square mile county.

Our goal is to maintain a county road system that is safe and convenient for public travel and to manage the roadside environment, with a view toward preservation. The primary road system consists of 446 miles; the remaining 824 miles comprise the local system. Along with our maintenance operations, we maintain 63 bridges, over 26,000 signs, 48 traffic signals and 41 flashing lights at intersectio

ns. Working with other governmental units, we work hard to locate and maximize every dollar available for infrastructure maintenance and construction. We are dedicated to public service and available to serve you. Road Commission of Kalamazoo County's Social Media Rules:

Location: X Avenue between 40th Street and 42nd Street

Crews will be replacing a cross culvert on X Avenue between 40th Street and 42nd Street.

📅 Date: 6-10-26⏰ Closure Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The road will be closed to through traffic during construction. Please seek an alternate route and allow extra travel time.

This tragic loss serves as a reminder of the dangers faced every day by those who work to keep our roads safe and maintained. We urge all motorists to slow down, stay alert, and use extra caution when traveling through active work zones and around road workers and emergency personnel.

Every worker deserves to return home safely at the end of their shift, just as every traveler deserves to arrive safely at their destination.
