As another incredible year comes to a close, we want to recognize the outstanding students and instructor of the KRESA Career Technical Education Law Enforcement Network (LEN) Program. Throughout the year, these future public safety professionals have demonstrated dedication, professionalism, leadership, and a genuine commitment to serving their communities.
The LEN CTE program serves as a vital pipeline to the KVCC LEN/CJ academic program and the LETA Recruit Academy, providing students with foundational knowledge, hands-on experiences, and exposure to the realities of law enforcement long before they enter the field and academy. Many of our most successful recruits begin their journey in the CTE program arriving with a strong work ethic, a passion for service, and an understanding of the expectations required to succeed.

The success of the program is a direct reflection of its students and the exceptional leadership of their instructor Retired KDPS Officer Brian Brusach. Through mentorship, guidance, and unwavering commitment, the instructor helps shape the next generation of law enforcement professionals while instilling the values of integrity, accountability, and community service.

We are grateful for our continued partnership with the LEN CTE program and proud to watch these students take the next step toward careers dedicated to helping others. The future of public safety is bright because of programs like this and the remarkable individuals who make it possible.

The 101st Recruit academy had their mock trial last week. It’s a reminder that our recruits are being shaped by some of the very best professionals in the criminal justice system. From seasoned prosecutors and defense attorneys to judges, investigators, and law enforcement leaders, these experts volunteer their time and experience to help prepare the next generation for the realities of the courtroom and the responsibilities that come with the badge.

We are incredibly grateful for the professionals who step into our academy not just to teach skills, but to share wisdom, perspective, and real-world experience. The collaboration between all sides of the justice system gives our recruits an education that goes far beyond textbooks — it gives them credibility, confidence, and a deeper understanding of justice itself.

Thank you Hills Law Office, Van Buren Prosecutors Office and the Honorable Judge McKay for investing in our recruits and our profession. Experiences like this are what make
this program special.
