TENNIS UPDATES FOR MAPLE & PORTAGE: Beginning June 8, free walk-on court time at the Maple YMCA and Portage YMCA will be paused for the summer season.

Walk-on court availability previously offered Monday – Thursday from 1 – 3 PM will resume in the fall. Thank you so much for your understanding as we shift into our summer programming. We look forward to seeing you back on the courts in the fall!

MAKE A DIFFERENCE: When school is out, the Y steps up—but we can’t do it alone! Every summer, thousands of kids in our community lose access to school-provided meals. You can help change that by volunteering with the YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo’s Summer Food Program.

No child should go hungry. By joining our volunteer team, you directly help combat summer hunger and prevent the "summer slide" for local families. Whether you are assisting with meal distributions or helping manage the drive-thru lines, your time gives real peace of mind to parents and guardians. Let's work together to make sure every kid has a healthy, happy summer. ❤️

100 DAY: This past Wednesday, our YMCA family celebrated National Senior Health & Fitness Day, and the energy in the room was absolutely unmatched.

Our incredible BOOM Muscle class tackled the "100 Day" challenge—crushing 100 reps of strength and core work together. A massive shoutout to Shashu Baraka for leading the class with so much motivation and keeping everyone pumped from rep 1 to 100! 🏋️‍♀️🎉

The star of the day was undoubtedly 92-year-old Alice Gordon. Alice jumped right in alongside her fellow members, matching the energy from start to finish with a positive spirit that inspired the entire room. She is the perfect definition of what consistency, confidence, and community look like.

Thank you to Shashu, Alice, and everyone who reminds us daily that the Y is a place where we can stay healthy and connected at every stage of life.

2026 GOLF OUTING RECAP: What happens when you combine a perfect day with an incredible mission? You get our 2026 Annual Golf Outing!

We are so incredibly grateful for days like yesterday. Every swing, putt, and sponsor helps us secure the vital financial assistance funds that ensure our Y remains open, accessible, and welcoming to everyone in our community, regardless of their financial situation.

An event like this takes a village, and we couldn't ask for a better one. A massive thank you to our longtime partners at The Moors Golf Club for hosting us and ensuring everything ran beautifully from start to finish.
