Last week, our Community Information Exchange (CIE) cohort came together for the first time at a retreat focused on building a more connected future for our community.

Together, we built a shared understanding of what CIE is and the opportunities it creates, established the values and agreements that will guide our work, and began shaping a collective vision for the future through conversations about governance, goals, and identity.

Most importantly, we started building the relationships that will make this work possible.

This is only the beginning, and we’re excited for what comes next. Stay tuned for more updates in the near future.

Today, we recognize Juneteenth—a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and honors the resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans.

Juneteenth is an opportunity to reflect on our shared history, celebrate Black culture and community, and continue working toward a future where dignity, opportunity, and belonging are accessible to all.

At Gryphon Place, we remain committed to building connections, supporting our neighbors, and strengthening the communities we serve.

Sometimes "I'm okay" means exactly that.

Sometimes it doesn't.

It's worth remembering that not everyone finds it easy to talk about what they're carrying. A simple check-in, a conversation, or letting someone know you're available can make a difference.

You don't need to have the perfect words. Often, being present and listening is enough.

When a traumatic event impacts a workplace, school, organization, or community, the effects often continue long after the incident itself.

Gryphon Place's Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team provides support following traumatic events, helping individuals and groups process what they've experienced and begin moving forward.

CISM services can help:
• Encourage healthy recovery
• Reduce the impact of trauma
• Support a return to daily routines
• Connect people with additional resources when needed

No one should have to navigate trauma alone.

Taking care of yourself isn't a luxury. It's part of staying healthy.

For some people, self-care means getting enough sleep. For others, it's exercising, spending time outdoors, connecting with friends, scheduling a doctor's appointment, or simply taking a break when it's needed.

Men's Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that physical and mental well-being go hand in hand.
