The Flathead County Board of Commissioners officially signed a letter of support urging continued funding for the Northwest Montana Drug Task Force.

Since 1984, this vital task force has been on the front lines—enforcing drug laws, taking major trafficking organizations down, and keeping our communities safe. The Commissioners are proud to stand behind their essential work in interagency cooperation, training, and public outreach.

The Flathead County Landfill may temporarily suspend all operations at the landfill today due to predicted and potential lightning warnings in the area.

The unique mix of a landfill's environment, elevation and heavy machinery makes lightning a severe and unpredictable safety hazard.

We want to keep our crew and community safe, so please plan your trips accordingly. Until an official "Operations Suspended" alert is posted, services will remain open. We recommend checking back here for real-time updates before heading out.

Major milestone for Flathead County!

“It’s been a long time coming. When I started as a prosecutor in 1998, the jail needed to be bigger,” Flathead County Justice of the Peace Eric Hummel told the Daily Inter Lake.

Officials officially broke ground on the new Public Safety Facility at the building site in South Kalispell yesterday, June 10. Construction is set to kick off this August.

Noël shared valuable insights on how these plants impact our local ecosystem and what steps we can take to protect our landscapes.

Managing these species is a community effort, and staying informed is the first step in preserving our natural resources.
