These last few days have been mental health awareness days for firefighters, EMS, etc. Today we honor the dispatchers...the voice on the other end of the line when you are having your worst day. They are literally the unseen heroes of our community. They hear some pretty traumatic things and never know how the situation ends up...they just put their heads down and answer the next call. Our fire dept and QRU could not function with our Flathead County 911 dispatchers. We salute you and thank you for all you do! Please take care of yourselves

This week, we extend our sincerest appreciation to our dispatchers for their unwavering commitment to community safety. They play a critical role in receiving calls for service from the public and mobilizing all Flathead Valley law enforcement and Fire/EMS agencies to respond. The demands of their job necessitate prolonged shifts, which can take a substantial emotional toll on their personal and family lives. Unfortunately, their tireless efforts frequently go unacknowledged and underappreciated. THANK YOU ladies and gentlemen at the Flathead 911 center for the work you do! We all appreciate you.

This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. Emergency (911) dispatchers are the first people you talk to when you call with a crisis. Even though dispatchers can't see what’s happening, they are the eyes and ears of emergency responders—our guiding angels who ensure that the right responders get to an emergency as fast as possible, and who keep responders safe as they help people in crisis. We would like to thank our Flathead County 911 Dispatchers and the Dispatchers at Kalispell Interagency Dispatch Center.
