It may be a month late, but we finally have the year end numbers in!
Total for the Year:
In 2025, WVFR responded to 552 total incidents across our district.
Emergency Medical Responses: 304 calls
The majority of our responses involved medical emergencies, from basic life support and advanced care to patient transport. These calls represent neighbors helping neighbors on some of their worst days.
Fire & Wildland Responses: 16 incidents
Our crews responded to structure fires, wildland fires, and other confirmed fire incidents, working quickly to protect lives, property, and our shared landscape.
Investigations & Alarms: 117 calls
These included smoke and CO alarms, gas leaks, power line issues, and other investigation calls such as smoke from burn piles. While many turn out to be non-emergencies, every call is treated seriously, because the risk is never assumed.
Traffic Control & Motor Vehicle Accidents: 28 calls
From traffic control to scene safety at vehicle accidents, our members worked alongside partner agencies to keep roadways safe.
Service & Public Assistance: 23 calls
From helping physically disabled residents to hazard removal and public assistance, these calls highlight the everyday ways we serve beyond emergencies.
Cancelled En Route / Standby: 64 calls
These calls were resolved before our arrival, allowing crews to return to service and remain available for other emergencies.
None of this work happens without dedicated volunteers, committed staff, strong partner agencies, and a community that believes in the value of emergency services. Whether a call lasts five minutes or five hours, our mission remains the same: to serve professionally, respond safely, and be there when it matters most.
Thank you for your continued support. We’re proud to serve this community; today, tomorrow, and into 2026.
