It's been 10 years since we decided a 24-hour mountain bike race in the Flathead would be a fun thing to make happen. With a collected love for mountain biking and belief in recreation for all abilities, the three of us (along with a lot of help) worked together to make 12 & 24 Hours of Flathead an annual thing for the last 10 years, minus a pesky pandemic that interrupted our run in 2020.
All told, the race has raised $20K to support our mission. All you crazy bikers helped us to fund our grant and buy adaptive bikes, skis and ATVs for local athletes who require different and more costly equipment to recreate like the rest of us.
We're really proud we were able to make a mission out of a mountain bike race and feel grateful to all of you for coming out every year to ride and donate to the cause. It's been an absolute blast but we've decided the race has run its course for now (pun intended).
24 Hours if Flathead is 501C3 and we remain committed to the cause. We haven't decided what's next but stay tuned, we're already tossing around fun ideas. Until then, we want to say a sincere thank you to our riders and sponsors -- especially Wheatons Cycle who supported us since day one, we truly could not have made the race happen without you. And to our racers, especially the loyalists who came out year after year, we are humbled you all chose to spend a summer weekend with us over the past 10 years. We appreciate all of you so much!
Until next time ✌,
Tia, Mark & Heather
