Blue Lake Twp. Fire Department would like to welcome Martin to our Firefighting staff.

Martin comes to our department with a ton of experience from Cal Fire.
During his time in California Martin was a Captain in charge of structural & Wild land fires both in the Fire service and public sector.

CAUTION!!!!
County Road 612

The contractor will be working on County Road 612 between Blue Lake road and the Crawford County line today and tomorrow. The contractor is estimating that they will complete the paving by the end of day tomorrow.

Please allow extra travel time and use caution in all construction zones!!

Due to the Wild Fires in Canada we are experiencing a haze and strong smell of smoke in the Blue Lake Twp/ Kalkaska County area today.

Fire Danger Very High in Northern Michigan to include Kalkaska County.
NO burn permits being issued at this time per the Michigan DNR.

DNR will be burning 539 acres tomorrow south of fletcher rd at the intersection of 4 point and maple starting at 10am
