Over the past few weeks this summer, Village facilities as well as some private businesses have suffered various levels of vandalism and damage. Chief Popa has implemented specific patrols and investigative efforts focused on bringing those responsible to be accountable for their actions. Officers with the Village, along with partners from the Sheriff’s Office and State Police, have identified several individuals responsible for damage to Village property as well as private property. To date, multiple individuals will be facing civil and/or criminal consequences. Additionally, community service projects will be staffed by individuals found responsible in the coming weeks.

Chief Popa has a reminder for Village residents and visitors: “If you see something, say something. If you know of individuals damaging our community, please let us know – it can even be anonymous. I will ensure our officers follow up on these reports to ensure a safe and enjoyable community for all Village residents”.
