Planes will start arriving today for the Kanab Fly-In! Stop by the airport over the next few days to see unique canard-type homebuilt aircraft arriving from across the country.

The community is invited to join us at the airport this Saturday, September 5 for lunch right on the airfield. Burgers and hot dogs will be served at noon while supplies last, and you’ll have a chance to meet the pilots and get an up-close look at their aircraft.

Here are a few photos from our National Night Out event earlier this month.

It was a great evening to spend time together as a community and get to know some of the officers and public safety personnel who serve Kanab.

A big thank you to the Kanab City Police Department for all they do to serve and protect our community every day. We appreciate their hard work, dedication, and the time they take to build positive relationships with the people they serve.

Here are a few photos from our Taste of Kanab event!

Taste of Kanab gave participants the chance to experience pieces of our community’s story through Southern Paiute foods, pioneer favorites, Little Hollywood-era dishes, and even some local fry sauce.

We’re fortunate to have a community that values its history and continues to invest in preserving and sharing it, one bite at a time.

Thank you to the Utah Historical Society, the Kanab Museum, our local history speakers, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this unique event possible!

If you’re having trouble with veterans benefits, Medicare, Social Security, or another federal agency, working with the Senator’s constituent services staff can often help move an issue forward or get answers.

Staff from Senator Mike Lee’s office will be available at the Kanab City Offices on Tuesday, August 25, from 3:30–4:30 PM.

If you have questions, concerns, or need assistance with a federal agency, this is a great opportunity to meet directly with Senator Lee’s staff.

This year, 725 readers signed up for our Summer Reading Program and together read an incredible 708,200 pages! Both sign-ups and prizes earned were almost double last year’s numbers.

Kanab City utility crews are out this week clearing sediment from stormwater detention ponds around the community.

When floodwaters move into town, they often carry large amounts of silt, dirt, and other sediment. That material settles in our detention ponds and reduces their capacity. Removing the sediment helps make sure these ponds are ready to hold water during future storm events.

Whenever possible, we also reuse the material we remove. Much of the sediment being cleared this week will be used as fill for over-excavation on the City’s future Streets Building project.

Participants will have the opportunity to wear a flag while zombies along the course try to pull it. Keep your flag, or risk becoming a zombie yourself!

This is a 5K course, but a shorter route is also being designed for kids and families who want to join in on the fun.

Beginning August 24, 2026, Xpress Bill Pay will no longer be used for Kanab City utility accounts. To continue making online payments or using AutoPay, you’ll need to register with the new portal.

There is no fee for payments made by e-check. Credit card payments are subject to a 2.5% processing fee paid by the customer.
