One of the questions I’ve been asked the most is, “How are you going to pay for expanding early voting?”

My answer is simple.

The same way every family pays their bills: by setting priorities.

If elected County Clerk, I believe making voting more accessible is a priority. That means looking at the budget, focusing on what serves the people of Kankakee County, and making smart decisions with the resources we already have.

In this video, I explain exactly what I mean and why I believe we can expand early voting without asking taxpayers for more.

Early voting shouldn’t only work for people with a 9–5 schedule.

Most people are balancing work, commutes, kids, appointments, and everything else life throws at them. Making voting more convenient isn’t about politics. It’s about making sure every eligible voter has a practical opportunity to participate.

I’d like to explore expanding early voting opportunities across Kankakee County so voting works better for the people it serves.

Why do we fight?

In the beginning, we fought because we were not properly represented. We fought because the founding fathers believed people should be free to build a nation where they could prosper and live free from tyranny. We fought because we believed in something larger than ourselves.

That idea helped shape the greatest country in the world, even though the fight continues today.

We still fight because we still believe those truths are self-evident. As time moves forward, the path to freedom, fairness, and prosperity changes. We may disagree on what that looks like, and sometimes those disagreements are difficult.

But the fight is part of what makes this country great. It challenges us. It shapes us. It forces us to keep working toward the promise we were founded on.

Don’t let the fight steal your patriotism, and don’t let your patriotism silence your fight.

Both have shaped this country, and both will continue to push us forward.

I love this country. I love this community. And I’m proud to celebrate both with you this Fourth of July.

Q&A answer #2: What has running for office taught me?

Apparently, that talking to a camera about local government can feel deeply unnatural at first.

But it’s also taught me something better: people are paying attention, even if they do not always comment publicly. A lot of people have questions, opinions, and concerns. They just want to know someone is willing to listen.

And honestly, that’s been one of the best parts of this campaign so far.

Q&A answer #1: What do I mean by accessibility and transparency?

For me, transparency is not about saying information is being hidden. It’s about how we communicate.

Information can be available, but that does not always mean people feel informed.

Accessibility is about making sure residents across Kankakee County have practical ways to use the services available to them, including looking at more early voting options across the county.

More communication. More outreach. More practical access.
