Kotek Building
Now referred to as the Kotek building, this property was purchased from the Jaffe family on March 30th, 2021. This property holds immense value to both men, as the building represents their partnership and friendship among themselves and their families. The name originates from both partners last names, Kooy and Wojtecki, representing the combining of vision, passion, and integrity among them. Their intention is not only to provide quality space and opportunity for other businesses, but to preserve and maintain the city’s historic and undeniable character. The Kotek building will house the corporate offices of Duncan Homes and Sky Development as well as other companies the partners own. Like the Kotek property, downtown Kankakee’s buildings go beyond four walls, they exude the hard-work, determination, and resilience throughout the decades. Mr. Kooy and Mr. Wojtecki aspire to create a legacy as influential as the Jaffe family’s.
