Still I Rise once again stepped up for the community through its Community Giveaway, providing families and individuals with a wide variety of new and gently used items, including men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing, essential items, baby clothing and supplies, hygiene products, health and beauty products, household items, feminine care products, school supplies, and other valuable resources.

We were especially proud to help families prepare for the new school year, again by providing backpacks and school supplies to children throughout our community.

Still I Rise extends a heartfelt THANK YOU to our sponsors, partners, donors, volunteers for helping make this community giveaway a success. Your generosity and commitment allowed us to continue placing valuable resources directly into the hands of individuals and families who need them most.

This Saturday, Still I Rise will once again step up for the community with its Community Giveaway, providing clothing, school supplies, household items, and essential resources to families and individuals completely free of charge.

The giveaway will take place Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on the sidewalk of RE/MAX, located at 297 S. Schuyler Ave., Kankakee, IL, at the corner of Schuyler Avenue and Station Street.

Attendees will have access to a variety of new and gently used items, including men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, baby clothing and items, hygiene products, health and beauty products, household items, feminine care products, school supplies, and other essential items.

If your child hasn’t received a backpack or school supplies yet, this is the perfect opportunity to make sure they’re ready for the school year!

All items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Fierce Financial Planning Services Inc. and Still I Rise are excited to present its 9th Annual Back 2 School Supply Giveaway on Saturday, August 8th from 2pm to 5pm at the Train Depot – Hill Side Stage (Kankakee). We will be giving away backpacks filled with supplies, school uniforms, FREE food and beverages. There will be a cash giveaway, bike giveaway, live DJ, bounce house, entertainment, food trucks, face painting, hair braiding, fun activities, games, tug-of-war, and much more for the youth to partake in! There will be FREE hair braiding (be sure to sign up).

Still I Rise & One Accord: would like to thank everyone who came out and made our Summer Vibes & Handmade Finds Pop-Up Shop such a wonderful event!

It was an exciting afternoon filled with shopping, creativity, community, and summer fun. We were proud to showcase talented local vendors, support small businesses, and bring our community together for an afternoon of raffles, prizes, shopping, and fellowship.

A special thank you to the Majestic Weddings & Events for working with us and providing a wonderful space for this event! We also want to express our sincere appreciation to the Kankakee County NAACP Youth Council for all of their help and support. And, of course, we couldn't have done it without our amazing vendors, customers, media partners, supporters, volunteers, Kraft Baskets & Kreations, and everyone who showed up and helped make the day special.
