NOTICE TO CLIENTS

Please be advised that Kankakee County Community Services, Inc., will not accept new applications submitted after August 18, 2026.
This includes:
-Water/Sewer Assistance
-Mortgage Assistance
-Rental Assistance for Past-due
-Rental Assistance for First Month's rent & Security
Applications and files that were submitted on or before August 18, 2026, will continue to be processed and finalized.
Applicants will receive written notification of their application status and/or determination by postal mail.
We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your patience.

Missed the School Supply Drive? Don’t worry!! We have school supply kits here in our office. First come, first serve. Same guidelines apply:

*Parent or legal guardian must have the social security cards for each person in the household.

*Parent or legal guardian must have Valid Kankakee ID/Driver’s License

Allow 5-10 min to complete application

-Human Services department will be closed all day Friday, July 31st and LIHEAP will close at 12noon for our School Supply Giveaway in Sun River Terrace.

We will resume normal business hours Monday, August 3rd, 2026.

🚨 Disaster Relief Program Update 🚨
Kankakee County Community Services, Inc. remains committed to assisting households impacted by recent disasters. Our team is continuing to process applications as quickly and carefully as possible.
📊 Current Program Update:
🏠 103 households served
💲 More than $183,000 in disaster relief assistance distributed
✅ 115 applications awaiting final approval
📝 12 new applications currently being processed

We appreciate your patience as our staff works diligently to review each application and ensure funds are distributed according to program guidelines. Applicants will be contacted directly as their application moves through the review process.
Thank you for your understanding and for allowing us the opportunity to serve our community. Together, we continue working toward recovery and resilience.
