Back in February members of multiple departments restarted the Mabas 7 Fire Academy hosted by Bourbonnais Fire Protection District. Tonight two of our members successfully graduated.

Please help us congratulate FF. Avent and FF. Holliday.

These members completed in nearly 300 hours of hands,
classroom, online, and self study. These members also took the extra time away from their families, worked jobs, and went to school for EMT-B. We couldn't be more proud of these guys. May their future in the fire service be bright and full of opportunities.

Recently we said goodbye to the oldest in service engine in the county, Mean Green.
E-81 responded to thousands of calls during is near 45 year career and many firefighters in this area learned how to pump on it.
The pride and joy our members had in running E-81 was not comparable to other newer vehicles, however, it was time to let it retire and for us to prepare for the next engine.
It will not be goodbye forever however. E-81 was purchased by two former members, Aaron and Noah Hubly who will make sure that Mean Green lives on and still makes appearances at events.
The Hubly family dedicated over 30 years to the department and have many story's of the days riding around in E-81 especially its open cab. We could not think of a family more fitting to purchase this engine.

Today marked 20 years of service for Chief Hasik. While retirement might not be relaxing, we wish him nothing but the best!
Chief Hasik was one of the youngest Chiefs in Kankakee County when he was promoted at 26. He led the department for 10 years before stepping down to Deputy Chief.
Chief Hasik not only dedicated 1000s of hours to the department but also taught many of the new members and hundreds of graduates of the Mabas 7 Fire Academy.

For over 60+ years there has been a Hasik involved in Kankakee Township Fire between Chief and his grandfather who was also a Chief and a Trustee. While tomorrow will be no different than today, we are beyond thankful for the dedication of Chief and his family to the department and the residents we serve!

Congratulations on youe retirement Chief Hasik!

Great day for parade duty!

Chief Goodrich, LT, Haynes, FF, Holliday, FF. Haynes, and Cadet Wright all participated in the Bourbonnais Friendship Festival Parade.

Big congratulations goes out to our Ret. Chief Spraker on being promoted to Fire Chief at McHenry Township Fire Protection District. Your hard work and dedication to the fire service has paid off and we could not be more proud!

Kankakee Township was out in the community supporting a really great cause. Yesterday FF Jossue Ramirez, FF Kayden Holliday, and FF Karla Haynes all participated in the Got Your 6 5K. All three completed within minutes of each other. Great Job!!
