Remembering and honoring our heroes this Memorial Day.

Memorial Day is a chance for us to pause as a community and recognize the extraordinary individuals whose bravery and commitment shaped the freedoms and rights we treasure today.
For the NAACP Kankakee County Branch, honoring them goes beyond a single day. It is about choosing, every day, to stand up for the same values they believed were worth the ultimate sacrifice: fairness, justice, and dignity for all.
As we enjoy this day with family and friends, let us renew our collective promise to protect and advance those rights for everyone in our community.
Have a safe, reflective, and meaningful Memorial Day, Kankakee County.

The NAACP Kankakee County Branch stands in unwavering solidarity with the thousands of advocates, organizers, and community members who gathered in Jackson, Mississippi, to protest discriminatory redistricting and defend the fundamental right to vote.

We commend our NAACP members and partners from Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, and across the South who are raising their voices against voter suppression and demanding fair representation. The fight for democracy requires vigilance, courage, and collective action.

Every voter deserves an equal voice. Every community deserves fair representation. We will continue to stand united in the struggle to protect voting rights, advance racial justice, and ensure that our democracy works for all people not just a privileged few.

Protect the Vote. Defend Democracy. Demand Fair Maps.

The NAACP Kankakee County Branch stands in solidarity with advocates from MS, TN, AR, and AL rising up in Jackson, Mississippi to fight voter suppression and demand fair redistricting.
The right to vote is the bedrock of our democracy. Attempts to silence Black communities and marginalized people are an assault on justice. We will not stand by in silence.
This is not just a political fight. This is a moral fight. And we will not rest until every vote is protected.
When we protect voting rights, we protect democracy.
