The Cabarrus Health Alliance WIC page was created as an additional way reach out to and communicate with families receiving WIC program benefits at the Cabarrus Health Alliance. WIC is an acronym for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children. WIC is a federal program administered by the United States Department of Agriculture and was created over 40 years ago. The

program is designed to provide food and nutrition education to income-eligible pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women and infants and children until age five.

WIC clinic in Pineville, KY, shares her thoughts on the program. "You know, a lot of programs
don't last very long, they’ll be four or five years until they phase out. But this one, this is our
