Kannapolis City Schools is excited to announce several Assistant Principal transitions for the 2026-2027 school year!

Please join us in congratulating:

๐ŸŽ‰ Kristi Miracco, who will move from G.W. Carver Elementary School to Kannapolis Middle School 7th & 8th.

๐ŸŽ‰ Natasha Sifford, who will transition from Forest Park Elementary School to G.W. Carver Elementary School.

๐ŸŽ‰ Eric Anderson, who will move from A.L. Brown High School to Forest Park Elementary School.

Each of these leaders brings valuable experience, a passion for student success, and a commitment to supporting staff, students, and families. We are excited to see the positive impact they will make in their new school communities.

Kannapolis City Schools is excited to share that Kyle Kelly has been named the new principal at Shady Brook Elementary!

Mr. Kelly has served in a variety of roles within KCS, gaining valuable experience that has prepared him for school leadership. He first served as a teacher at Jackson Park Elementary before becoming the Dean of Students at Kannapolis Middle School in 2022. In 2023, he was named assistant principal at Kannapolis Middle School, where he has continued to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families while supporting student success and school culture.

โ€œWe are excited to welcome Mr. Kelly as the next principal of Shady Brook Elementary,โ€ said Superintendent Dr. Sara Newell. โ€œHis leadership experience, dedication to students, and commitment to building positive school communities make him an excellent fit for Shady Brook. We look forward to the impact he will make for students, staff, and families.โ€

Kannapolis City Schools is excited to share that Bernard Waugh has been named the new principal at Kannapolis Middle School 6!

Mr. Waugh has served KCS students and families for many years, spending more than 15 years as a dedicated teacher at Kannapolis Middle School before becoming assistant principal at Forest Park Elementary. In 2023, he was named the KCS Assistant Principal of the Year in recognition of his leadership and commitment to students. In January 2024, he was named principal of Shady Brook Elementary, where he has continued to build strong relationships and lead with a student-centered focus.

โ€œMr. Waugh is a proven leader who is deeply committed to students, staff, and families,โ€ said Superintendent Dr. Sara Newell. โ€œHis years of experience at Kannapolis Middle School, combined with his leadership at both Forest Park and Shady Brook, make him an excellent fit to lead KMS 6. We are excited to see the positive impact he will continue to make in our school community.โ€
