🍩 Supporting a Great Cause with Special Olympics Kansas! 🏅

Sgt. Swearingen recently joined fellow law enforcement officers at the Kansas Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics "Cops at Donut Shops" fundraiser at Dunkin' in Overland Park. The event brought officers and community members together to raise awareness and support for the incredible athletes of Special Olympics Kansas.

It was an honor to meet and celebrate the athletes who inspire us through their determination, sportsmanship, and achievements. Events like these highlight the strong partnership between law enforcement and the communities we proudly serve.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by Dunkin' to show support, make a donation, and help make a difference for Special Olympics Kansas athletes across the state!

KCKCCPD had the honor of attending the street dedication ceremony honoring Officer Hunter Simoncic, who died in the line of duty. 💙

In recognition of his service and sacrifice, Campus Blvd. has officially been renamed Officer Hunter Simoncic Blvd.

We are grateful to have been part of this meaningful dedication as our community continues to honor Officer Simoncic’s legacy, courage, and commitment to service.

As we approach the one-year anniversary of the tragic line-of-duty death of Officer Hunter Simoncic, we invite the community to join us for a ceremony on Wednesday, August 26th, at 2 PM. The event will take place at the State Avenue entrance of the Kansas City Kansas Community College, where we will rename Campus Boulevard to Officer Hunter Simoncic Boulevard. A reception will follow immediately at the Mary Ann Flunder Lodge by the Lake on the KCKCC campus.

This past weekend, Sgt. Swearingen had the honor of serving as a medal presenter at the Special Olympics Kansas State Bowling Competition.

Congratulations to all of the incredible athletes who competed with determination, sportsmanship, and heart. It was a privilege to celebrate your achievements and help recognize your hard work and dedication.
