For many alumni, their AFA experience goes far beyond a few college memories.

It’s the confidence to walk into a room and start a conversation. The ability to build genuine relationships. The willingness to say yes to an opportunity before you feel completely ready. The people skills that become more important with every step forward in your career.

Four AFA alumni are coming together in The Cultivating Leaders Webinar to reflect on how their student experiences continue to shape the way they lead, connect and navigate their careers today.

They’ve been where you’ve been. Now they’re getting real about what they’ve learned along the way.

Join AFA Alumni on the Journey to the Top for an honest conversation about career growth, relationships and the lessons that keep paying off long after college.

Celebrating Cole Pearson’s Voice!

Cole’s AFA journey began while he was a student at Purdue University, where he earned his degree in agribusiness management. Through AFA Leaders Conference, Policy Institute and the AFA Leaders Fellowship, Cole found experiences that pushed him to take on new challenges, share his perspective and grow through feedback, mentorship and meaningful professional development.

Today, Cole serves as sales support coordinator for TRULAND Equipment, a John Deere dealer in Northern Indiana and Northwest Ohio. After beginning his career as a credit analyst in agriculture and agribusiness lending, Cole followed the call to a new challenge and found his way back to the John Deere business his family has long been part of. His story is a reminder of the confidence AFA helps build: the confidence to ask questions, lead up, improve processes and push yourself and others to be better.

A few hours of your time can help shape what comes next for an AFA student. 🌱

We’re looking for volunteers to serve as Student Essay Reviewers Sept. 14–20. By reading and reviewing student essays, you’ll help AFA get to know the students behind the applications—their experiences, goals and the perspectives they hope to bring to our community.

It’s a simple way to give back, stay connected to AFA and play a part in creating opportunities for the next generation of agriculture leaders.

Connect to the full scope of ag.

Agriculture is more than one background, one major or one career path. It is where science, business, communications, technology, policy, production and countless other fields come together to move the industry forward.

AFA Leaders Conference gives you the chance to explore that bigger picture, meet people from across the industry and see how your own skills and perspective can contribute to what comes next.
