With over 100 years with the 17th Amendment, the USA now has over 100 years with statewide elections for the Upper Chamber of the Federal Congress, the United States Senate. The Senate elects 2 Senators for each state, making a total of 100 Senators for our 50 states in the Upper Chamber.
The Lower Chamber has a much different working relationship with the people. The Lower Chamber has 435 Congressional Districts. The Districts have a working relationship with the 10-year Census. The District Maps are redrawn after every 10 year Census based upon the reported population shifts. This process takes 2 years. For example, MO-5 2018 is dramatically different than MO-5 2022. We probably like to agree that 3 Super Bowl appearances make this kind of difference for KCMO in the USA, but there's also more to the story for affordable housing, taxes, etc. I need you to agree to our unit increase of 225 in the 100 year period from 1920 to 2020. You can make this by taking 331(2020) - 106(1920) = 225 as the unit increase in the 100 years from 1920 to 2020. This means that whenever we have an ideal population for our District, it has increased in those years. For example, a Representative had about 250,000 Americans in their District in the 1920's. A Representative now has an ideal population exceeding 766,000 Americans, according to the State of California.
It wasn't appropriate for the Federal Government to authorize a Federal Secretary of Labor until after the USA had a completed continental map. Also it was required that the USA proved it had ended slavery entirely before a Federal Secretary of Labor was appropriate. However, like the 16th & 17th Amendments, we've now had a Federal Labor Secretary for over 100 years.
This is currently Julie Su. Well, we need to move on. There's not been a real vote on her in the Upper Chamber and the Detroit 3 are calling for strikes from the UAW. Sure, sure, this is not a good thing.
Let's propose someone else, perhaps? Who can Julie Su refer?
We're running a 10:2 split on WuSu Grit.. Both Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and the Acting Labor Secretary Julie Su are Harvard Law School Graduates...... We'll need some new answers soon!
