Every student deserves a school that believes in their potential, before they even believe it themselves.
We are proud to award $500,000 to Hope Leadership Academy, a school built on the foundation of academic excellence, character development, and leadership for every child it serves. 📚⭐

is doing the intentional work of closing opportunity gaps, creating a structured, supportive environment where students are challenged academically while also developing discipline, confidence, and purpose.

Igniting the future requires fuel and we are proud to invest in a place that will build leaders who will shape the future of Kansas City and beyond! 🔥

Last year, BLAQUE Kansas City partnered with Councilwoman Melissa Patterson Hazley and the J.E. Dunn Foundation to invest $50,000 in the launch of a CTE construction pathway with KC Future Builders at Manual Tech. 🌆

We also sponsored a two-day KCPS Career and Technical Education Conference, bringing together educators, industry leaders, and decision-makers to help shape a bold vision for CTE in Kansas City!

Earlier this month, five students were celebrated at their “Signing Day” with J.E. Dunn, a powerful reminder of what is possible when we invest in student pathways. Congratulations to all! 🌟🎓

“As communities across the country prepare for summer break and plan for the upcoming school year, these reads offer insight into the opportunities—and challenges—ahead.”

Supporting students means investing in the full ecosystem around them, including the educators who guide and serve them every day.

Memorial Day has passed, but the importance of remembrance and reflection continues.

As we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country, we also encourage our community to continue learning about the often-overlooked history of Black Americans and the origins of Memorial Day — a story deeply rooted in remembrance, freedom, and collective healing.

This powerful article from TIME offers important historical context and reflection that is still worth reading and sharing.

Historians like the Pulitzer Prize winner David Blight have tried to raise awareness of freed slaves who decorated soldiers' graves in 1865

What does “social capital” mean for Kansas City students? 💭✏️

In this week’s Breaking Down the Blueprint Wednesday, Charles Stanley Jr., Vice President of School Quality & Growth at BLAQUE Kansas City, unpacks why relationships, networks, mentorship, and access matter just as much as academics when building thriving futures for our children. 🌇📚

What does investment look like from a student’s perspective?

For Kora Bailey at DeLaSalle Education Center, it looks like new beginnings for herself, her teachers, and her school community. 🖤🌟

That’s why BLAQUE KC created the Community Blueprint: to listen to real voices, follow the data, and invest in what students and educators need most. Click the link in our bio to learn more! 📘

This is more than a school. It’s a second chance. A support system. A place where students can rewrite their story.

At a time when too many students are pushed to the margins, DeLaSalle leans in by ensuring every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and graduate. 📚🎓

This investment is about access. It’s about dignity. It’s about believing every student deserves a path forward.

Igniting the future requires fuel, and we’re proud to invest in this one! 🔥

Six years ago, this vision was just an idea.

In the heart of Kansas City, at the Chamber of Commerce, we brought together leaders, educators, and community voices to celebrate a major step forward:

💰 $1.8M invested into 3 KC charter schools + 2 nonprofits
🎤 Powerful voices and bold leadership filled the room
🖊️ Big checks. Bigger commitment to our children

This moment reflects the vision our community helped shape. And we're just getting started.

Igniting the future requires fuel. If you’re ready to partner with us in this work, contact us today!
