Celebrating 39 years of service to the 60+ residents of Wyandotte County! Caring Calls provide telephone support to homebound persons.

Programs offered to improve today’s situation include:

Next Chapter Kansas City – a community collaboration to provide help for persons in the second half of life as they transition to the "next chapter.”

Adventures in Learning offers a monthly learning series that includes a variety of workshops, health screenings, entertainment and lunch. Driver Safety Program, in collaboration with AARP

Fall

& Spring Creative Classes (examples include drama, drawing, crocheting, knitting, writing, computers, book discussions)

Monthly Health Screenings for blood pressure and blood sugar

Minor Home Repair and Referral helps older adults with small repair jobs

Friends for Seniors, a friendly visitor program matching local volunteers with isolated older adults in the community

Parkinson Support Group offers educational presentations and mutual support. Vials of Life provides important medical and identification information accessible by rescue personnel in case of an emergency.

FAQ:

Do you have rental restrictions?

Yes. The Y Lofts is a Restricted Income development for seniors 55 and over.

Do you have an application fee?
Yes. A $25.00 non-refundable processing fee is charged for each adult resident. This fee is applied toward a Credit Report and a Criminal Background Check.

What is the deposit?
A $500.00- or one-month rent, whichever is lower refundable deposit, is required to hold any apartment. Deposits will be refunded in the event the application is not accepted.

Do you allow pets?
YES! A $150 non-refundable fee (per pet) and a $35 Monthly fee. There is a 25lb weight limit. All Deposits and Fees are waived for ESA or Service animals. •

What utilities are included?
Water, sewer, and trash are provided by The Y Lofts. The resident is responsible for the cost of electricity, phone, cable, and internet.

What appliances come furnished?
Each home is equipped with a refrigerator, dishwasher, and range.

What about laundry?
The Y Lofts has a laundry center located within the building.

Do you allow smoking?
No. The Y Lofts is a non-smoking community.
