I had a wonderful time briefing Oasis members on the Crisis our Trans community is facing in Kansas. Oasis is a welcoming, supportive and nurturing organization that cultivates shared human experience where "People are more important than beliefs."

I am always grateful to interact with Oasis and have a number of friends including my nephew that regularly attend.

Tomorrow is the day! Our first Gender Affirming Closet Swap already has donations piling up (seriously, my truck was full) and I'm excited to see folks have a chance to walk away with some items that give them joy.

Things to know:
-You do not NEED to donate items in order to take some home. Coming empty handed and leaving with full hearts and hands is absolutely welcome.
-Items will be sorted by size/age, but not gender, because CLOTHES HAVE NO GENDER. If you are bringing items, please look for tables marked with approximate size ranges or categories (shirts, pants, skirts, shoes, outerwear, etc.) and place your items there.
-We've never done this before, and don't know what the collection will amount to, so please give grace if we need to figure things out on the fly!
-Please only bring items that are clean and free of stains and damage. A little wear is okay, but it should not need repair to be wearable.
-Monetary donations are appreciated for folks who may need to order items that need more careful selection. If you want your donation to be specifically for the closet, please note that when giving. (link in comments.)
- We will have some bags on hand for taking items home, but if you want to bring your own 'shopping bag' please feel free to do so!
